Foundation Solutions
CFA Piles
Continuous Flight Auger (CFA) Piles are constructed by pumping concrete down a hollow stemmed auger and cast “in-place” to deliver a more efficient solution in weak ground conditions, including low vibration and minimal noise.
Micro Piles
Micro piling works are common where Geotech conditions or soil profiles are highly variable across a site and will support a range of loads and structures.
Rock Drilling
Core barrels are suited to deflecting layers or irregular surfaces and are designed to deal with hard rock or where reinforced concrete and masonry impede other methods.
Bored Piles
Bored piles are used for retaining walls, foundations, or capped piles. Bored piles are suited to deep excavations that adjoin other structures as well as tunnels, roads and bridges.
Bored Piers
Ideal for heavy horizontal and vertical loads, bored piers are commonly used if there is a range of load cases involved, such as uplift and tension to the lateral load.
Belling
Belling is deployed to increase pressure per square metre of end bearing piles, particularly for high rise structures and when faced with resistant or high traction ground conditions.
Permanent & Temporary Casing
Suited to unstable ground conditions or retention systems involving contiguous and secant piles. Temporary or permanent casing is also utilised during drilling.
Jet Grouting
Soil reinforcement method for controlling and reducing sediment underneath structures and for increasing load bearing capacity.
Soil Investigation
Soil investigations will determine settlement rates, the position of the water table, and bearing capacities across a project site.
Retention Solutions
Sheet Piles
Sheet piling provides temporary support for excavations of basement structures and are also common to specialist marine or riverbank protection works.
Soldier Piles
Soldier Piles are used to lower the ground level in front of the wall, with the height increased with ground anchors or propping.
Secant Piles & Contiguous Piles
Secant and Contiguous Piles are used to support loads for below ground structures such as deep CBD basement excavations up to site boundaries.
Soil Nails
Soil Nails are an efficient solution to accommodate tight and concurrent civil construction work programmes, particularly on congested CBD site footprints.
Ground Anchors
Ground anchors offset destabilising forces and are suitable for all soil types – either as a stand alone solution or as part of a engineered solution depending on site conditions.
Slope Stabilisation
Stabilising slopes can involve ground anchors and soil nails, as well as rock bolting, grouting, shotcreting, meshing and/or site dewatering.
Dynamic & Static Pile Load Testing
Browns Piling has designed and deployed proprietary test hammers with a variable mass of 10-30 tonne. Testing is carried out as early (and often) as possible to ensure our design engineers and clients can adjust or refine pile construction techniques proactively. All Browns piling rigs are equipped with state-of-the-art Taralog computers and site operators send data from each pile for instantaneous review by our Geotech engineering team.
Specialist Geothermal, Water Boring & Marine
Browns Piling have the capability to support the development of commercial geothermal energy systems, as well as agri-businesses and sub surface water sources to sustain crops or livestock. We are also experienced in undertaking marine-based piling works, including bridges, pontoons, jetties or piers.
